October Retreat 2024

Our guides during the Retreat are our two herds of cows. Their sacred presence provides the atmospheric platform for meditations and contact with the Heart, for this is our experience in their company.

It is their unthinking beingness that inspires us to remember who we truly are, free from concepts, mental bondage and beliefs.

As well as the meditational sessions, there is ample time to simply be alone, exploring the 100 acres of beautiful wooded landscape our farm offers.

We serve delicious organic vegetarian and vegan food, with most of the fresh produce coming from our orchards or vegetable garden.

The idea for the Retreats naturally arose several months after the death of a beloved brother. In the grief that followed his suicide, it became clear that time spent in the company of the cows had the effect of bringing a deep quietness, in which the pain could simply not exist.

The sanctuary that through them Life provided, became something so tangible and undeniable, that the feeling came to simply share what was happening in their presence.

Simplicity is the essence and foundation of the all the Retreats we hold on the farm.

This translates into a clear basic structure that enables us to focus attention on the act of simply being:

Daily:

-Breakfast

-Morning session: silent meditational walks, innemersion in nature.

-Lunch / Break time

-Afternoon session: sitting in quietness with the cows.

-Evening meal

-Wildlife watching / What may unfold

Guests can choose from several accommodation options:

• Rooms in the farmhouse

• Glamping tents sited in beautiful wooded locations

• Staying in your own tent

• Staying in your own camper van / mobile home

PRICES

To celebrate the publication of our book Being with Cows, payment for this year's event is for the first time by donation, with a minimum of €300 asked. We hope that this enables guests from all economic backgrounds and situations to join us on Retreat. All we ask is that guests make an honest appraisal of their financial circumstances and contribute accordingly.
